Giraffe

Designed by Shuki Kato and folded by me.

1 sheet of 40x40cm Biotope.

Introduction

When it comes to the most realistic giraffe design, two are excellent candidates: Shuki Kato's and Bodo Haag's. Shuki's neck-leg proportion is nearly perfectly balanced, while Bodo's body pattern is clever and beautiful. I chose to fold Shuki's design first because shapes are better at abstracting objects than patterns.

It's roughly the same size as Satoshi Kamiya's Giraffe folded from 34x34cm Biotope!
